LAYERS OF A RAINFOREST
The Amazon Rainforest has four separt parts. Plants grow in this layer.
forest floor: This layer is the bottom layer. it is dark here because the topper layers block the sunlight coming through. Giant anteaters, invertebrates, shrubs, and mirco orgamisms live in this layer.
Understory: This layer recieves sunlight but not much as the topper layers. the plants in this layer grow big. small trees, vines, ferns, and shrubs. Many insects live here such as: jaguars, frogs, and many more...
Canopy: This layer forms a roof with all the leaves and branches and protects soil from erosion and also protects the lower layers. The Canopy can grow up to 25-45 meters tall. Snakes, monkeys, tree frog, and sloths are found here.
Emergent: This layer has very tall trees that can grow up to 60 meters tall. Eagles, monkeys, bats, and butterfiles are found here.
